The Design Engineer will be responsible for creating and developing mechanical designs using Solid works & AutoCAD software. The Design Engineer will work closely with other engineers and project managers to ensure that designs meet customer requirements and standards.

Job Description

Role & Responsibilities
  • Requirements Analysis: Understand the specific requirements for the EOT crane. This includes factors such as load capacity, span, lifting height, duty cycle, environmental conditions, and any special features required.
  • Conceptual Design: Develop initial concepts for the crane based on the requirements analysis. This involves deciding on the crane type (single girder, double girder, etc.), the type of hoist (wire rope or chain), the control system, and other major components.
  • Structural Design: Determine the structural requirements for the crane, including the size and material of the crane girder, end trucks, and runway beams. Consider factors such as static and dynamic loads, fatigue, and safety factors.
  • Mechanical Design: Design the mechanical components of the crane, such as the hoist mechanism, trolley, wheels, brakes, and gearbox. Ensure that these components are capable of meeting the required load capacities and operating speeds.
  • Electrical Design: Design the electrical system of the crane, including the motors, motor controls, power supply, limit switches, and safety features such as overload protection and emergency stop systems.
  • Safety Analysis: Perform a thorough safety analysis of the crane design to identify and mitigate potential hazards. This may include structural analysis, electrical safety checks, and risk assessments.
  • Prototype Development (if applicable): Build and test a prototype of the crane to validate the design and identify any issues that need to be addressed.
  • Documentation: Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and documentation for the final design. This documentation is essential for manufacturing, installation, and maintenance of the crane.
  • Manufacturing Support: Work closely with manufacturers to ensure that the crane is built according to the design specifications and meets quality standards.
  • Installation and Testing: Oversee the installation of the crane at the customer's site and conduct thorough testing to ensure that it operates safely and meets performance requirements.
